Conductive Fibers

Situation:
A weaver of heavy belts for recreational tread mills needed to produce a belt that would not generate a static electric charge.

Results:
Concordia developed a yarn that combined a heavy 1000 denier polyester with a fine 20 denier conductive fiber that was capable of dissipating static electric charges. Concordia now produced a range of conductive yarns that are used in anti-static applications, EMI (electromagnetic inferference) shielding, and flexible radars.
